SINISA JOVIC MBACP
I am a qualified and experienced therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which is the UK’s leading professional body for counselling practitioners.
Awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the School of Psychology at UEL (the University of East London, UK), I have an MA in Education and am currently engaged in the final research component of a Master’s Degree in Integrative Counselling at UEL.
I support people with a range of issues, some of which include: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, low moods, sexuality and gender identity issues, low self-esteem, sadness, separation, divorce, middle-life crisis, procrastination, spiritual issues etc.
I offer a safe and non-judgemental place to explore the thoughts, feelings and beliefs that may be holding you back. As a human being, I believe that nothing in the range of human experience should be alien to me, and this consciously open and empathic attitude is one of the cornerstones of my approach to the therapeutic process.
The existence of a single, comprehensive theory that can fully reflect the complexity of human life and experience, seems fundamentally impossible to me and that is why I chose the Integrative approach to therapy. This enables me to draw inspiration from a wide range of theories, such as Person-centred, Existential, Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic, Systemic approaches and Narrative therapy, and in doing so to tailor our work precisely to your personal situation.
The idea of seeing breakdown as a possible breakthrough lies at the heart of my work, as I deeply believe that even the most distressing situations in our lives offer potential for reflection, change and growth, so long as we choose to live our life deliberately. Just as water will always find its way through cracks, our innate strength will eventually make its way through our weaknesses, as we learn how to trust ourselves, how to be more flexible and how to adapt to the new circumstances that life throws before us.
Have you ever thought that what you are experiencing is the concept of something, rather than the thing itself? Much of my work focuses on enabling people to perceive the world in a fresh and immediate way. When we learn how to notice those forces that are shaping our perception, change is ready to happen, and we are ready to fully engage with the present.
I offer free 15-minutes telephone consultation, before we meet.
